The Port of Motukea (above) lies on the South Western coast of Papua New Guinea (PNG). It is the Second biggest port in PNG and serves the National Capital District, Central and Gulf province

Privately owned and operated under license issued by the PNG Ports Corporation Limited. Arrangements can be made with Private Operators through the respective Shipping Agents.
WHARF CRANES
Cranes are available at both the domestic and international wharf. Shippers are advised to check this before shipping heavier loads. Prior advice and approval must be sought from the PNG Ports Motukea Business Manager.
BULK HANDLING, RO-RO, TANKER, LNG (LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS). PASSENGER HANDLING AND HEAVY LIFT
The Port allow shipping agent to station their Hopper to handles Bulk wheat and grain at the Costal Berth 1 & 2. Also, Pneumatic cement unloader is stations at Berth 1 & 2 for bulk cement discharge.
Berths 2 & 1 both can accommodate for Ro-Ro vessels.
NIL Tanker facility, however only Road Tanker / Tanker: Road Tanker
Both berths 1 & 2 can accommodate Passenger vessels.
None available, however berth 4 (MIT 4) can handle heavy cargoes.
STEVEDORING
MOTUKEA INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL (MIT)
- ICTSI Terminal Operator provides 24 hours stevedoring operations with spreaders, forklift and a shore to ship with MHC for extra heavy lift.
- Cranes: MHC Crane up to 150 tones capacity in use now with the ships crane.MOTUKEA COSTAL BERTHS
- Consort MUL & Port Services Stevedoring provides 24 hour stevedoring operations with spreaders, forklifts, lifting and rigging gear with Harbour Crane.
- Cranes: Use of ship to shore crane at the moment.
- Permissible Loadings: 10.0 tones, Long term / 5.0 tones short term.
