We operate in one of the most dynamic and challenging environments in the world, and our success depends on maintaining an unwavering commitment to world-class safety and environmental performance.

Through continuous improvement and strong governance, PNG Ports ensures that our ports remain safe, compliant, and sustainable gateways for the nation’s trade and development.
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
PNG Ports has a zero-harm philosophy – we believe that every incident is preventable, and we work relentlessly to ensure that our people, contractors, and port users go home safely every day.
Our OHS systems and procedures are designed and implemented in accordance with ISO 45001, providing a structured framework for identifying hazards, assessing risks, and continuously improving safety performance.
We engage closely with port users, contractors, and local stakeholders to build a culture of shared vigilance – recognising that safety excellence is achieved through collaboration, commitment, and consistency.
Safety for One is Safety for All.

Environment
PNG Ports recognises that we operate within spectacular and precious marine environments – ecosystems that are vital not only to global biodiversity but also to the livelihoods of Papua New Guinea’s coastal communities.
Protecting these natural assets is central to how we conduct our business. Guided by ISO 14001 and the International Maritime Organization’s environmental conventions, we maintain stringent environmental management practices that minimise our footprint and safeguard our marine surroundings.
