PORT OF ORO BAY
The Port of Oro Bay (above) also known as Dyke Ackland Bay, is where the wharf lies. Historically, it was the site of a U.S. advanced base during World War II. A staging area for Allied ships, a liberty ship wharf at the southern end of the bay, installations along the shore, and anti-aircraft gun batteries in the surrounding hills

Oro Bay Port is an ISPS compliant port and properties within the fenced port area is guarded by a contracted security company under supervision of port's security personnel (Shift Security Supervisors).

Arrangements for disposal can be done with the Shipping Agent and National Agriculture and Quarantine Inspection Authority (NAQIA).

PILOTAGE BOARDING ARRANGEMENTS
Boarding speed limit: 3-4 Knots with two main ropes or pilot combinations. Port Control or pilot to instruct vessel.

TUG, TOWAGE, MOORING GANGS SERVICES
Privately owned and operated under license issued by the PNG Ports Corporation Limited. Arrangements can be made with Private Operators through the respective Shipping Agents.
WHARF CRANES
Oro Bay Port has mobile cranes available capable of lifting up to 20 tonne containers. Shippers are advised though to confirm this before shipping heavier loads. Prior advice and approval must be sought from the PNGPCL.
SLIPWAY, SHIP REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE
A dry dock facility is in operation at Motukea (Port Moresby) by Curtain Brothers (PNG) Ltd.
