Kimbe Port (above) is located on the mid-northern part of the New Britain Island in the safe Stettin Bay Harbour on the great Kimbe Bay which boasts more than 60 percent of the coral species of the entire Indo-Pacific.

West New Britain Province where Kimbe Port is located is by far the largest producer and exporter of crude Palm Oil in PNG and the Port is vitally positioned to facilitate 90 percent of the Palm Oil trade in the Province. The bustling town of Kimbe is the third largest port in Papua New Guinea.

There are no wharf mounted, however, forklifts are available capable of lifting up to fourteen (14) tonne containers and ARBI-Lifts/40' Spreader capable of lifting up to forty (40) tonne containers. Shippers are advised though to check this before shipping heavier loads. Prior advice and approval must be sought from the relevant Port Authority.

Under cover storage 1,500m². Open storage 15,000m².

Slipways, Ship Repairs & Maintenance

None in Kimbe. A new dry dock facility is in operation at Motukea (Port Moresby) by Curtain Brother (PNG) Ltd.

Waste Disposal

No waste disposal facility available. Arrangement for disposal can also be done through the Shipping Agents and National Agriculture and Quarantine Inspection Authority (NAQIA).
