White Ribbon Campaign

The White Ribbon Campaign is observed globally to eradicate violence against women on November 25th commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Men all over the world are encouraged to wear a White Ribbon on the day as a personal pledge and a commitment on their part to support community action to STOP violence by men against women.

The White Ribbon Campaign originated in 1991, following the 2nd anniversary of the massacre of 14 women by a lone gunman in Montreal, Canada, where a handful of Canadian men wearing White Ribbons in a public pledge never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
